Our Yervandashat…

The village of Yervandashat is situated 15 km away from the border and 45 km from the regional center, Armavir. In this area, access to contemporary technological education is limited, leading to inadequate solutions for the various challenges faced by the village and its residents in their daily lives, as the community's internal intellectual resources remain underutilized. Consequently, students at Yervandashat School lack opportunities for informal engineering education.

Let’s find a solution!

Equal opportunities for education and occupation must be extended to the youth of Yervandashat, a border village, just as it is provided to youth in the regional center and capital. The "Armath" engineering laboratory plays a crucial role in this endeavor by offering equal and cost-free access to technological education for children.

Although at the moment having an "Armath" laboratory in Yervandashat school seems like a dream for many, that dream can come true only thanks to your and our joint efforts. Your help and support are very important to give the project visibility and success, so please "be part of the radical change".

What is "Armath"?

“Armath’s” mission is to empower the younger generation with skills and a mindset for the economy of the future by fostering and unlocking engineering and creative talents.

In “Armath” Engineering Laboratories, children aged 10-18 are introduced to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education through interactive after-school classes, exciting competitions, innovative camps, and more.

“Armath” Program Objectives

Why Yervandashat?

The border village of Yervandashat is located in the mountains, on the left bank of the Araks at the confluence of Akhuryan. Yervandashat has a rich history. The village was founded at the end of the 3rd century BC by King Yervand D and was named Paradise by Movses Khorenatsi. The current population of this small village is about 700.

Yervandashat has one educational center, whose students are in dire need of informal education in accordance with the requirements of the 21st century, the most important of which is the IT field. The residents of the village insist that the population and young people of the border villages, which carry rich layers of history and culture of Armenia, must have the opportunity to receive a full, equal, and quality education so that strong and educated young people do not leave their native villages.

Who is behind the initiative?

The news of having "Armath" raised great excitement and waves among the children and youth of Yervandashat. A small but persistent team was formed to give "Armath" to the village, the members of which you can get to know below.

"I am Edgar Chibukhchyan, born in 1999 in Bagaran village, located in the Armavir region of Armenia. In 2015, I enrolled at the "Tumo" Creative Technology Center, and in 2018, I was conscripted into the army. Currently, I am pursuing my studies at the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport. My passion for computers dates back to my childhood, and I have independently learned numerous computer programs over the years".

"I am Vigen Khachikyan, born in 2007 and currently residing in Yervandashat village, Armavir region. I completed my studies at the "Tumo" Center for Creative Technologies and subsequently engaged in volunteer work. In 2020, I volunteered for the "Children of the Regions in the Regions" program, and in 2021, I became a young ambassador for Armavir with MITK NGO. I have accumulated four years of valuable volunteering experience, emphasizing my dedication to serving the community".

The youth of Yervandashat

Education will be multi-layered and multi-sector if 59 and more young people from the border village of Yervandashat receive education at the "Armath" laboratory. "Having "Armath" will give us the opportunity to get closer to the roots of modern technological education," say the young people of the village.
